Hiring Process in SIJ Group
At SIJ Group, we aim to attract the ideal candidate for every role through a careful and deliberate hiring process. Our selection criteria vary for management roles, key expert positions, and production jobs, and these criteria are detailed in our vacancies section.
Our process is designed to ensure that we are the right fit for you and your desired career path, that you have a complete understanding of who we are, what we do, and what we expect from you before you decide to join our team.

Although the selection process may differ slightly depending on the role, your process is likely to include the stages on this page.
We post all our open vacancies on the SIJ careers website. If you find a position that fits your interests and experience, this is where your journey starts.
To promote our vacancies, we also place job announcements on career portals, social networks, share them with the Employment Office. However, the quickest and most effective way to apply is to submit your application via our career portal.
We ensure that the application process is simple and straightforward—there is no need to create a profile or sign in to our career portal to apply. You can simply apply by pushing the »Apply« button next to the vacancy of interest, filling in a short personal questionnaire, and attaching your CV. We recommend that you tailor your experiences and skills to the job description to ensure you stand out.
If you know someone who works at SIJ Group, tap into their knowledge to learn more about our culture and whether you'd be a good fit. Give your friend or contact person in SIJ Group the job title or vacancy number, and they can refer you in our system. Once you are referred, the system will send you a link to apply to that job online.

Your application is your chance to showcase your best professional self and suitability for the role you are applying for. We encourage you to submit a recent CV and any other relevant document confirming your experience, education, and motivation for the job.
For candidates for beginner production positions or positions where we do not require special education and a degree, we also accept applications without CVs. Our recruiters will assist you in refining your experience, qualifications, and expectations to ensure they are presented in the best possible way to the hiring manager.
If our recruitment team identifies you as a good match for the opportunity you have applied for, they will get in touch with you for an initial interview. This is a conversation designed to help us confirm the information in your application form and ensure that the job you are applying for is a good match, given your job expectations and previous experience. We may determine that a different role within one of our group companies is a better fit at this stage. The recruiter will then discuss additional job opportunities within SIJ Group with you.
For positions of higher responsibility, the recruiter will ask if you are willing to provide references from previous employers as part of the selection process.
The next stage will likely be an interview with the manager hiring for your role. In this step we will be able to see how you fit with the department and the role.
The purpose of an interview is to get to know you better. We will discuss your experience and qualifications for the job, your career history, the reasoning behind your choices, what you learned, and what you've achieved. Interviews are also an opportunity to learn more about us, our values, our culture, and our career opportunities.
You can expect to participate in one-on-one or panel interviews, conducted either online or in person, depending on your location and the nature of the position. Most interviews last around 45-60 minutes, but there are no strict time limits.
For all candidates applying for production roles, we offer a guided tour of our production site to give you a clear understanding of our working environment and production process.
For all managerial roles and some expert roles, we use assessment tools to get to know you better. These might assess your cognitive abilities, such as numeric or logical reasoning, or help us understand your preferred working behaviours, natural strengths, and aspirations. You might also be asked to do a case study or practical test, depending on the role. The nature and timing of the assessment will vary depending on the role you are applying for, and we will provide you with a clear explanation in advance.
This is the final step of the hiring process and hopefully, we'll be welcoming you to the team. Extending a job offer is always an exciting moment for us, as it means we've found a great candidate and look forward to having you join SIJ Group.

Once you accept the job offer, you'll receive your employment contract and receive guidance on starting your on-boarding process to ensure a smooth transition into your new role.
We will arrange a pre-employment medical check, a mandatory step before we can finalise and sign your employment contract.
Notice for foreign candidates
We will support your work permit application.
For foreign candidates, we offer support with obtaining a work permit. We also cover the costs of translating documents into Slovenian and handle all administrative fees required by Slovenian authorities to issue the permit. Candidates are responsible for covering the administrative costs in their home country to obtain the necessary documents for the application.
Our international mobility specialist will be in touch with you as soon as you confirm the job offer and will guide you through the whole process of work permit obtaining. She will also help you obtain residence permits for your family members.
We will support you in learning the Slovenian language.
Free language courses are organised regularly. We will help you prepare for the Slovenian language state exam with free preliminary preparations.
Important notice
To protect yourself from recruitment frauds operating in different parts of the world, please be informed that SIJ Group recruiters or our official representatives from recruitment agencies shall never and will not do any of the following:
Ask from you for any money in connection with the recruitment process or obtaining a work permit.
Ask for your bank account details and payment credentials during the application process.
Request that you purchase anything or make payments to cover a range of expenses and administration costs.
Solely communicate through an external representative during the hiring process i.e. limiting your direct contact with the future employees.
Use a third-party e-mail service to correspond with the candidates, e.g. Yahoo or Gmail.
Ask for you to provide personal identifying information such as a social security number, tax number, birth certificate, driver's license number or passport information over the phone or via e-mail.

Support with accommodation
For candidates who relocate to Slovenia from abroad and Slovenian candidates who relocate from other regions to work for SIJ Group without their families, SIJ Group helps provide suitable accommodation near the workplace. Please note that we can only offer accommodation options shared with other workers (2 to 4 people per room). For these shared accommodations provided by the company, we also contribute to covering part of the costs.
