Rehabilitation

SIJ ZIP center with many years of experience in the field of training and employment of disabled persons successfully implements modern employment rehabilitation activities (hereafter ER).

The service is provided by the Carinthia Center for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (hereinafter CRIK), which is an independent organizational unit of the SIJ ZIP Center and one of 14 providers in the network of providers of employment rehabilitation in Slovenia.

Employment rehabilitation is defined by the Act on Employment Rehabilitation and Employment of the Disabled (hereafter ZZRZI), UL RS, no. 16/07 – UPB2, 87/11 and 96/12 – ZPIZ 2, namely as services that are provided with the aim of training a disabled person for appropriate work, getting a job, retaining employment and progressing in it or changing their professional career.

The program represents a different, broader way of treating people with disabilities.

The members of the professional team (two doctors - a specialist in occupational and sports medicine, a psychologist, an andragogist, a social worker, an occupational therapist and a technologist) perform:

• all employment rehabilitation services for employed and unemployed disabled persons and persons undergoing disability determination procedures,

• services in the field of social and health care and

• activities in the field of consulting, education and training.

The team is aimed at activating, promoting and developing the positive qualities, abilities, skills and interests of the individual.

Social inclusion

We have been implementing the social inclusion program, based on the contract concluded with the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, since 2011. Disabled persons with a decision on unemployability can join the program. The program is intended to support and maintain the disabled person's work skills and social integration.

The inclusion of a disabled person is voluntary. The emphasis is on work activity, acquisition, preservation, development of work and social skills and skills of the disabled. We adapt the activities to the disabled person's psychophysical abilities and interests.

The social inclusion program is an independent organizational unit within the ZIP center.

Together with mentors and experts, the group cooperates with other production and service programs of the ZIP center, and at the same time, based on the ideas and potential of users, it successfully develops its own line of products, which are distinguished by handwork.

One of the more important goals that the company founded is to influence changes in the mindset of employing disabled people, in terms of focusing on preserved skills, abilities and knowledge - that is, seeing disabled people as people with potential.
